In hopes to build some new shelves in my basement (and do it right), I went searching for an app that would help. I came across several apps like “My Measures & Dimensions.” These apps help you measure things that already exist, but I wanted an app that visually builds an item for me…and then there was “Woodcraft.”

Woodcraft was created to help carpenters blueprint their next build. It combines elements of CAD and 3D modeling for woodworking projects. Woodcraft was a little tough to get use to at first but after watching a short video I was able to pull together a draft of those shelves.  If you are looking to do a youth room redesign this app may be the help you need. I have zero CAD and 3d modeling experience and was able to pick this app up quickly. Check out Woodcraft in the app store.

Cons:
$10 is on the high end for iPad apps
Not the easiest to learn
